As a high five this celluloid achievement, here's a selection of my tracks Daire has been kind enough to use on the soundtrack. A more formal soundtrack release in one format or another will happen at a later date but in the meantime ENJOY DER STREAM!!!

I'm getting a distinct air of "Ogroff the Mad Mutilator" from this one and I've no doubt the soundtrack will rule. Should be doing the rounds of the festival circuit later this year...

First up, the long gestating remastered and extended version of the Frozen Existence OST will finally be released by the mighty AWWFN label sometime early this year (I believe I'm up after a re-release of Sore Throat's 'Disgrace to the Corpse of Sid' LP, grindtastic!). There's an utterly fantastic sleeve featuring artwork by Adam Burke and graphics by Eric Lee (check their other work here and here). It'll be poking it's head out on vinyl initially but a CD release is on the cards as well. Really chuffed with this one, massive thanks to Al at AWWFN for driving it forward. More details soon folks!

Second up, Daire McNab will be using some of my tracks in his upcoming giallo "Three Sisters" featuring none other than City of the Living Dead and Cannibal Ferox star Giovanni Lombardo Radice! Fantastic to be involved in this project, really looking forward to seeing the finished movie when it's released later this year. Check out the website here for further updates.

For now, cheers m'dears! I know what you're thinking, it's been a while since I last checked in here. I feel really bad, eh? Plenty of other things have been going on so this site has fallen foul of the hierarchy of life (or something). I'm sooooooo sorry. Friends again?

Anyway, some fairly interesting celluloid collaborations are on the horizon and after some serious heel dragging by myself, some physical releases are on their way. I'll also be posting a few more preview tracks etc. over the coming months. More news on these mildly exciting titbits soon.

Whilst I've got your eyes, gonnae check out my newly created "other" or mistress blog featuring randomly selected tracks from my electronic music library mashed together into no-thought-involved mixtapes. No filtering or careful selections, just haphazard bingo-esque compilations. The output is likely to swing between being interesting and a complete disaster, so check it out. I'm going to use this blog as dumping ground for all the other random music cludge I've been mushing up this place with, so from now on this page will be Repeated Viewing/Horror guff focused. Please take the chance to abandon the ship will you can folks...

One Up records in Aberdeen provided me with a frankly amazing source of underground/alternative music as I was growing up in the grimmmm North East of Scotland. In the mid ninties I landed a job there after an interview that consisted of 4 pints in the local and a drunken quiz regarding my knowledge of Dischord's back catalog. To my horror I was sent to work in the vinyl basement where all the (gulp) DANCE MUSIC WAS!!! Actually turned out to be a pretty defining moment in developing my musical tastes beyond raging hardcore and metal. Great store, knowledgeable staff, magic memories. Truly a sad day for Aberdeen's already weary alternative cultural scene. Ironically, the council whose high rent demands had been a significant part of helping to crush the life out of the business for years is apparently planning to open their hub for Aberdeen's city of culture bid there. Go figure.

Hyper stylised 80's carnage at it's best with one of the weirdest killer outfits in the history of celluloid captured moi-dah. Needless to say, the soundtrack by Simon Boswell is a cracker and well worth taking the time to track down.

The full movie is on yoooootube but unfortunately unless you know your rigatoni from your spaghetti hoops you'll find it a rather perplexing viewing experience. So why not have a wee swatch at the trailer instead?

An unofficial follow up to Anthropophagus's baby munching madness, Absurd is an all out maniac on the loose movie with big George Eastman mashing up everyone in sight. Dumb cops, preposterous medical explanations and a particularly drawn out sequence involving a human oven chip make this a winner. Magic pummelling soundtrack as well, of course.

Hastily mixed without the intervention of modern technology (as you will no doubt be able to tell at certain points, mixmaster sausage fingers on the decks...). I'm going to do more of these over the next wee while, seems like a good way of sharing music without being too brazen about it.

Everything about this film subtly evokes an atmosphere of unease without ever resorting to the latter day techniques of jam and bangs. The dream sequences are particularly effective and feature some great other worldy sounds. I believe this was remade and fleshed out a bit in 2011 with John Hurt in the lead role, but i doubt that version can beat this one. Watch and forever be terrified of rambling/duvets.
